Insurance & Coverage

American Express
Rental Coverage.

Many customers choose to pay with American Express because certain cards provide rental car damage coverage. Here’s what you need to know before your reservation.

How It Works

Coverage May Apply When:

The rental is paid in full with your AMEX card
You decline the rental company's collision damage waiver (CDW)
The rental period meets AMEX policy requirements
The vehicle is eligible under your specific card's terms

This protection is designed to cover damage to the rental vehicle or theft of the vehicle.

Important to Know

Common Limitations.

!
Coverage may be secondary to your personal auto insurance
!
Coverage does not include liability for injuries or third-party vehicle damage
!
Coverage limits may apply based on vehicle market value
!
Eligibility depends on card type — verify before relying on coverage

Exotic & High-Value Vehicles

Important Note.

Some credit card rental insurance policies may restrict or exclude high-value and exotic vehicle categories. Because Nizo Exotics specializes in premium and exotic vehicles, customers should confirm with American Express that their card provides coverage for the specific vehicle being rented before declining the damage waiver.

American Express Premium Car Rental Protection

AMEX also offers an optional program that can provide primary coverage for eligible rentals. This typically requires a small flat fee per rental and may offer higher limits.

Contact American Express directly to enroll or verify eligibility.
