A wedding is two car journeys with a long gap in the middle, and they want different cars. Rates are for twenty-four hours, which is the shortest booking we take.

Getting there, and the bit nobody plans for
The drive out is short and the timing is not. The cars start at 2022 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034, which is a handful of miles east of Ocean Avenue, and the 10 decides what that is worth on the day. We stage against the hour you give us rather than the distance, and a Saturday afternoon westbound is planned for rather than discovered.
The marine layer is a scheduling fact, not weather. The coast here sits under cloud most mornings and it frequently does not clear until late morning, which matters if the send-off is meant to be roof-down and photographed before noon. Afternoon and the hour before sunset are the ones to plan the open-top photographs around; a hard-roofed car does not care either way.
There is often nowhere for the car to stand. Several of the bluff-side ceremony spots have no driveway and a metered, single-lane kerb on Ocean Avenue, so a car cannot sit at the door through a ceremony. Ours waits nearby and comes forward on a call — which is also why the exit shot is of a car arriving rather than a car already parked.
What the day costs beyond the car
Four lines make up a rental here: the day rate above, the refundable deposit, the Protection plan, and delivery, which to a Santa Monica venue is $150. All four arrive as one written total before anything is authorised against a card.
Cullinan in and Dawn out is the arrangement this page is named for, not a rule: any combination works — one car for the whole day, or a change of car between the ceremony and the exit. Two cars on one date are two one-day rentals, each delivered for its own hour and each with its own delivery line — not one booking with the car swapped halfway.

What you need
To rent for a Santa Monica wedding
- 21 or over as standard. Drivers from 18 are considered case by case, on their own full-coverage insurance and a larger deposit, confirmed in writing before the day; under 25 there is a young-driver fee per day. How the age rule works.
- A licence held for at least two years, in the driver’s own name, presented at the handover. A foreign licence with a passport is fine; no International Driving Permit is asked for. Renting on a foreign licence.
- A credit card in the renter’s name for the refundable security deposit — $350 to $2,000, set by the car — held rather than charged, and released 5–7 business days after a clean return (about two weeks if there is minor damage to price; up to a month for anything serious). The deposit, explained.
- The Protection plan, $50 to $225 a day by the car’s deposit band, is part of every rental unless your own policy passes the four tests; it sits in the quote before you pay. Your policy or ours.
